The Andy Gibson Foundation has been set up in memory of favourite coach of many a hockey player, Andy Gibson.

Andy was extremely passionate about the sport, giving his time to develop others, and while nothing can replace him, the charity has been set up in his name to carry on the work he cared so much about.

GRAEME GIBSON

Andy’s father and the man who is responsible for Andy picking up a stick as a child.

Graeme has been a long-term supporter of all things Doncaster Hockey Club, having played in the men’s section many moons ago and more recently helped with the junior coaching at Town Fields, with a number current National League players having played under him at some point in their hockey career.

BRETT HOLLAND

Brett coached alongside Andy a Loughborough University, working across the women’s section of the club. A formidable partnership, Brett and Andy enjoyed BUCS Gold and Premier League promotion, as well as plenty of laughs on the side-lines and beyond together.

PAUL GANNON

Dubbed “the best manager in hockey” by Andy, Paul is currently involved with the England Men’s Senior Squad. Paul and Andy were extremely close both on and off the hockey pitch. Andy and Paul struck up a fantastic friendship at Brooklands HC, with Paul later travelling to Loughborough to work with Andy at the university.

MARK BATEMAN

Mark is currently the England Hockey Boys Lead Talent Development Coach. A fantastic mentor for Andy, the pair enjoyed many a Premier League away day with Brooklands HC. Mark invested time to develop Andy as a coach and undoubtedly played a massive part in making him the great coach he was.
